Studio Residence

Conditions, Decisions, and Value

Set within the open landscape of rural Oklahoma, the project required a contemporary residence that could operate fluidly between domestic life and professional work. The plan is organized as a clear H-shaped form, separating living and studio functions while creating a defined entry court to the front and a private courtyard to the rear. A dedicated studio with its own entrance allows the house to shift between family and work modes without overlap, maintaining clarity in daily use. In shaping the house around courtyards and dual circulation patterns, the project reveals how a restrained modern plan can offer flexibility, privacy, and presence within an expansive prairie setting.
